The two main requisites for becoming a leader are: 1) having the necessary skills,
and 2) working in an environment that supports developing these skills.  Leadership skills are very difficult to learn from books and lectures because they do not allow individuals to practice these skills in the context of a group.  Complexities such as group dynamics, emotions, and company politics are an integral part of leadership development and impact the learning process.
